About Marie Winters
Marie Winters received her doctorate in naturopathy at Bastyr University, one of four accredited colleges of naturopathy in the United States. Marie completed her clinical training at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, an integrative medical clinic in Seattle that serves over 30,000 patients each year.
In addition to her required clinical rotations, she trained at Seattle's Cancer Treatment Center, Seattle Children's Hospital and Highline Hospital. She also provided naturopathic care to the underserved population at the 45th Street Clinic for homeless teens, and at Mary's Place shelter for women. Marie trained at several other naturopathic clinics throughout the northwest, with naturopathic doctors specializing in pediatrics, women's healthcare and midwifery. She devoted a year of her education to gynecology, pregnancy and pediatrics, working with several midwives in the Seattle area, and attending over 20 births.
Marie is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and the Pennsylvania Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Her herbal research has been published in Alternative Medicine Review and on the Wise Woman Herbals website.
In private practice Marie specializes in botanical medicine and homeopathy. However, her treatment protocols often include diet and nutrient therapy, hydrotherapy, craniosacral therapy and lifestyle counseling. With experience in family medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, infectious disease, chronic illness, and cancer care, Marie is happy to meet with individuals of all ages to assist with their healthcare needs.
Marie received her undergraduate degree in English Literature at Fordham University in New York City. She worked briefly as an analyst and investor relations consultant for The Carson Group prior to devoting her life to natural medicine. Before enrolling at Bastyr, she studied with herbalists while working in the herb department at Gentle Strength Co-op in Tempe, AZ.
